RJD, JVM(P) politicians on Maoist hit-list: Intelligence
Ranchi, Nov 25: Polling begins in Jharkhand amid apprehensions that Maoists may target politicians belonging to RJD and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Prajatantrik (JVM[P])during voting and campaigning for the 5-phased state election.
Intelligence agencies also have intercepts of conversations between Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammad members and local commanders in Jammu and Kashmir. In these conversations, the latter is being asked to ensure that the assembly elections are boycotted.
Acting promptly on the inputs, the Jharkhand government has stepped up security for RJD and JVM(P) members as well as tightened security arrangements at rallies. The intercepts were passed on to the security agencies too.
