GHAZIABAD: An FIR has been lodged following a district court order in a case of gang-rape in Muradnagar on November 11. The woman’s family said they had to approach the court after police refused to register an FIR.
The victim, a resident of Modinagar, had gone to a temple on the fateful day. On her way back in the evening, two men in a car purportedly approached her on the pretext of asking directions.
She ignored them and walked away. The men then sprayed a liquid on her face, rendering her unconscious. She was pulled inside the car and allegedly raped, before being dumped near the Upper Ganga canal.
“An FIR has been registered after a court order and we are looking into the case,” Muradnagar SHO R P Sharma said.
In a separate incident on November 12, a woman was raped in a moving car before being thrown out near Upper Ganga canal in Muradnagar.
The womanwas called to Muradnagar by three men, on the pretext of a job. She knew one of the accused— Vakil— owner of an eatery close to her house. Two of the three accused were later arrested.
