Margao: The Margao town police on Sunday booked an offence against Mahesh Matta, a resident of Khar- Mumbai, on charges of dishonestly misappropriating, over a period from 2009 to 2011, an amount of Rs 6.62 crore entrusted to him in his capacity as a sales director of Sanda Wellbeing Pvt Ltd.
The case was booked based on a complaint lodged with the Margao town police by Vijay Dalwani, a resident of Thane-Mumbai, against Matta and other accused.

The complaint states that the accused prepared forged receipts and invoices, thereby committing breach of trust and further cheating the firm.
The Margao town police have charged the accused with Section 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), Section 409 (criminal breach of trust), Section 420 (cheating) and Section 465 (forgery) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are under way.
