Norwich manager Neil Adams says Gary Hooper has enhanced his prospects of a first Championship start of the season against Reading on Saturday.

The former Celtic striker has had to wait patiently for his opportunity after injury saw him miss the first six weeks of the campaign.

But he came off the bench to rescue a point in the 3-3 draw with Brighton at Carrow Road and should now be in contention to start when the Royals visit.

Adams said on Norwich City TV: "He's done his chances of starting in the next game no harm at all.

"It's a fantastic finish and that's what he can do. He's been sharp for us and all credit to him for that finish, it was an excellent goal."
