DAVAO CITY—Leading foam and plastics manufacturer Uratex Foam plans to put up its own P250-million factory here to strengthen its production and marketing presence in Mindanao, its executives announced here.
Cherry Wong-Tan, marketing director of the Multiflex RNC, told a news forum here on Thursday that the RGC Group of Companies, maker of the Philippine-branded Uratex foam, would begin the construction of its factory in a 10,000-square-meter lot in Dumoy in Toril District, west of downtown.
Construction would take place within the next six months. The RGC Group expects the factory to start production operations by August next year, said Eddie A. Galor, the executive vice president of the group of companies.
The factory would produce both the foam for the bed, sofa and other furniture cushioning, and for the cushion of the upholstery requirement of cars and trucks, and plastics for the industrial needs of its clients.
Foam production would be capable of turning out 12 long foam blocks per day, a volume that would be able to produce 120 bed mattresses, said Frederick Sow, general manager of Multimax for the Visayas and Mindanao areas.
Both Multimax and Multiflex RNC belong to the RGC Group of Companies.
The RGC Group already built a two-floor building showroom in Barangay Pampanga at a cost of P150 million.
The company is a leading foam and plastics molding company with established supply partnership with leading Asian and US car and motorcycle makers, for their upholstery, seat and seat cushion, as well as plastic molding and steel-car engine parts.
