Bovine smugglers, bootlegger held by Batote police

RAMBAN, Nov 23: Batote police arrested two bovine smugglers and a bootlegger in two separate incidents.
As per police sources, police team from Batote police station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JKO2AH-5977.
During checking, police rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Nazir Hussain (driver), son of Sher Mohammad of Degwar, district Poonch and Mohammad Aslam, son of Swaru of Talwara, district Reasi.
A case under FIR number 118/2014 under Section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, Batote police also arrested a bootlegger along with 53 pouches of illicit liquor.
The accused has been identified as Mohinder Singh, son of Chandu Ram of Assar.
A case under FIR number 119/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Batote police station Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhary made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban NS Parihar and SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Matoo.
