RSS gears up for 3-day youth camp on Ramdev premises

As per the RSS estimates, nearly 5000 youths are expected to participate in the camp.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) would hold a three-day Nav Shrijan Camp from November 28 on the premises of Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogapeeth (Phase 2) in Haridwar, the outfit’s Prant Pracharak Harish said at a press meet in Dehradun on Sunday.

As per the RSS estimates, nearly 5000 youths are expected to participate in the camp. RSS chief Mohanrao Bhagwat, Baba Ramdev, mathematician and Patna’s Super-30 founder Anand Kumar, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, co-founder of Farm N Farmers Manish Kumar and social activist Vinayak Lohani are some of the renowned persons who will attend the camp. RSS functionaries like Sah Sarkaryawah Krishna Gopal and the outfit’s national executive committee member Indresh Kumar will also be present.

“All youths would bring their uniform, articles of daily use and utensils,” said Harish.

An RSS functionary present at the press briefing told The Indian Express that the camp is meant for youths associated with Uttarakhand. “Uttarakhand is an important region for our campaign to connect youths with the RSS  as youngsters from various parts of the country come to Dehradun to study. So, this camp would be a great opportunity for the RSS to attract youths. Sangh Chief Bhagwat would attend all three days of the camp,” he said.

RSS sources said the youths attending the camp would be motivated to dedicate at least one year of their lives to serve as an RSS pracharak. “At the camp, youths would be made aware about the ideology of the RSS. Sangh chief Bhagwatji would interact with them. The RSS would focus on youths pursuing technological courses,” said an RSS functionary.

RSS has also come up with a slogan for the participants attending the Haridwar camp-”Think for Uttarakhand, Work for Uttarakhand and One Year for Uttarakhand”. The outfit runs as many as 1200 Shakhas in various parts of the state.
