YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will conduct meetings here on Monday and Tuesday to review the party’s performance in the elections to the Lok Sabha and the Assembly in Prakasam district.
Mr. Jagan will use the meetings as platform to boost the morale of party cadre and give them inputs to expose the ‘anti-people’ policies of the Chandrababu Naidu government which failed on all fronts, party general secretary Balineni Srinivasa Reddy told media persons here on Sunday.
It was a bag of mixed fortunes for the fledgling party which had bagged six of the 12 Assembly seats, while the TDP accounted for five other seats even as an independent won from Chirala.
Though the YSRC lost to TDP in four Assembly segments of Darsi, Kondepi, Kanigiri and Ongole, its MP candidate Y.V. Subba Reddy won the Lok Sabha seat thanks to unassailable majority he got in Yerragondapalem, Giddalur and Markapur segments in western Prakasam.
After reviewing the arrangements for the meeting, Mr Srinivasa Reddy said the party supremo would take suggestions from MPs, MLAs, ZPTCs, MPTCs and former parliamentarians and former legislators on strengthening the party. He would give directions on formation of party committees at the mandal and village levels to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
On the first day, the party's performance would be reviewed in Kandukur Assembly segment of Nellore Lok Sabha constituency and also in Chirala, Parchur, S.N.Padu and Addanki segments forming part of Bapatla Parliamentary constituency, said party district convenor M. Ashok Reddy.
This would be followed by a review of performance in Kondepi, Kanigiri, Darsi, Markapur, Giddalur, Yerragondapalem and Ongole constituencies on Tuesday, YSRC MLA from Yerragondapalem P. David Raju said.
