Satish Kaushik debuts in K'wood with Bala's next

Bollywood actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik is all set to do his first Tamil film, Tharai Thappattai, which is being directed by Bala. The actor will be seen playing an important role in the film which is based on the dance form Karakattam. Confirming the news, Satish says, 'I have great respect for Bala and have watched all his films. I like the way he portrays the characters in his film...they are very raw. When this opportunity came by, I immediately said yes. I was told that it is a very crucial role. I am presently in Goa. Once I fly back to Mumbai, Bala is going to arrange a meeting and we will discuss my role in depth.'
Satish has been associated with Bala for a long time, now. He bought the remake rights of Bala's Sethu in Hindi (Tere Naam). 'I have also bought the rights of Pithamagan,' he says. Tharai Thappattai has Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar in the lead. 'Shooting starts November end and will go on till February, 2015. I have some commitments, but I will take out time and do this film,' says Satish.
