LPG gas can be used as a carbon-free fuel with no flames, smoke and noise using stoves that work on indigenously developed technology, said Hari Rao, who holds a patent to the technology for industrial LPG stoves.
He was speaking at a press meet here on Sunday where Kashi Vishwanathan, executive chef of Atria Hotel, V.V. Krishnan, a former ceramic scientist who was one of the team of scientists who worked on the Prithvi missile and Dr. Kashi Vishwanathan, director, Kotak Urja Pvt. Ltd.
He said LPG stoves targeted for industrial use produce uniform heat, like that produced by charcoal. The temperature can be controlled and a timer will be added for it to switch off after a time is pre-set for the stove.
The company also has similar stoves for domestic use and is waiting clearance for product standards.
The stoves are manufactured in India by Agnisumukh, which has a demonstration kitchen in Bengaluru.
