Delhi's women entrepreneurs honoured at India International Trade Fair 2014

In an attempt to encourage women entrepreneurs in the city , the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIDC), of the Government of NCT of Delhi, organized a special event on the opening day of the India International Trade Fair 2014.

In an attempt to encourage women entrepreneurs in the city , the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIDC), of the Government of NCT of Delhi, organized a special event on the opening day of the India International Trade Fair 2014.
In an attempt to encourage women entrepreneurs in the city , the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIDC), of the Government of NCT of Delhi, organized a special event on the opening day of the India International Trade Fair 2014.
The event saw Lt Governor Najeeb Jung acknowledge and award the efforts of some Delhi's most inspiring women entrepreneurs. The awardees came from different fields and included people like designers Ritu Beri and Rina Dhaka, restaurateur Ritu Dalmia, marathon champion Sunita Godara, Dastkar founder Laila Tyebji, social activist Kiran Chopra and entrepreneurs Sneh Gangal and Saheen Anjum.

The entire theme of this year's Delhi pavilion is women entrepreneurs, with the tagline `Hum kisi se kum nahi', and according to the organizers, awarding these women is a way to encourage more entrepreneurs to come forward and contribute towards their ho me state. Beri told us, “This is such a great platform and I feel so honoured to be sharing it will all these amazing women.“ Restaurateur Dalmia was also awarded, and she said, “This is a different kind of experience for me and a very special kind of award."
Dhaka added, "The achievements of so many women, both the ones on the stage and the many others in society , continue to inspire me. It feels great to be here and for our lit tle efforts to be acknowledged in this way." She, along with many other Delhi designers, are also a part of the FDCI stall in the Delhi pavil ion.
