Whitman-Hanson’s Taylor Kofton (at right in photo) describes her winning goal in the Division 1 South girls’ soccer final.

‘Well it was getting late, and as the ball was coming up, I knew we were coming down to our last chance before heading into penalty kicks. Rachel Kelly had the ball but she got tripped up a little bit by a defender. I was there for the rebound. . . . It was such an amazing feeling. I’m incredibly lucky to be able to score a goal like that.’

Taylor Kofton, a freshman forward, netted the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Franklin in the Division 1 South final. She had a hand in all eight of the Panthers goals in sectionals. W-H played West Springfield in Friday’s state final.
