LUDHIANA: Ludhiana, Promod Ban, Child AbuseApprehending that the investigating officials might be under pressure in the case involving a 34-year-old woman who was accused of sexually abusing a minor boy, in her rented accommodation at Sham Nagar more than a month ago, Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) has asked city police commissioner Promod Ban to look into the issue as to why the woman could not be traced yet.

The office bearers of BBA also demanded a speedy probe into the case. It is strange that the police have failed to arrest the accused even after one month. We have asked city police commissioner to find out the reasons for the delay?" said BBA state coordinator Dinesh Kumar. Kumar along with State Child Right Commission Vice Chairman Sukesh Kalia will soon meet victim's familyto find out about the progress in the case.
The woman, a resident of Sham Nagar, her brothers Madhav and Raghav were booked on October 18 under relevant sections. It was alleged that she sexually abused 14-year-old boy of Vishwakarma town whom she used to teach and her brothers had made video clips of their sexual act.
Cops said they raided a hideout in Noida, but she was not found there. They added that even as the accused are no longer using the phone numbers they used prior to registration of the case, cops have inputs that they may be hiding in Himachal Pradesh or Haryana. Raids were also conducted at Vrindawan (ancestral house of the accused) and Delhi.
Police officials said the pen drive contains pornographic stuff. But to confirm the authenticity of the clips, the pen drive was sent to forensic science laboratory. They added that the pen drive may contain clips of the accused in objectionable position with the victim, but that will be clear only after FSL sends its report.
Beant Juneja, who recently joined as SHO of division number 5 police station, meanwhile said they are making all efforts to arrest the accused. He added that police has also sent the pen drive found from the house of the accused to a laboratory. Talking to TOI, boy's mother said, "Police are trying their best, but should keep check on all small details. We can hope for justice only when accused is caught
