JKP Central Hockey team faces Namdhari XI in summit clash

JAMMU, Nov 22: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals battles, J&K Police Central Hockey team and Namdhari XI Jeevan Nagar have qualified for the finals today and will lock horns with each other in the summit clash at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the 1st semifinal, J&K Police defeated Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Club Poonch by (5-2). For Police team, the 1st goal was scored by Satwant Singh in 5th minute via penalty corner, while 2nd and 3rd goal was scored by Jaspreet Singh and the 4th goal was pelted by Satwant Singh in 42nd minute. The 5th goal was netted by Sikander Pal Singh in 44th minute. For Banda Bahadur Hockey Club, Ravneet Singh scored the first goal in 32nd minute, while the second goal was scored by Matinder Pal Singh in 39th minute. Skippers of both the team were shown yellow cards by the referee.
In another semifinal, Namdhari Hockey Club defeated Guru Nanak Hockey Club  Nanak Nagar Jammu by (4-0). The 1st goal for winners was netted by Bishan Singh in 25th minute, 2nd by Gagan Deep Singh in 29th minute, 3rd by Udhampreet Singh in 34th minute and 4th again by Bishan Singh in 42nd minute.
The matches were officiated by Jagjeet Singh, Dilbir Mehta, D Singh, Charan Jeet Singh, Satbir Singh, Joginder Singh and  G S Bakshi, Tournament Director.
In today’s proceedings, Surjeet Kaur, social activist and J S Tandon, Managing Director SRTC  were the special guests.
