England's most capped player Fara Williams believes it will be an emotional experience returning to Wembley Stadium to play for the national team.
The Liverpool Ladies midfielder is set to take her record international appearance tally to 133 in England's glamour friendly with European champions and two-time World Cup winners Germany on Sunday.
It's the first time England's Women have played at the new Wembley, but 30-year-old Williams played there for Team GB during the London 2012 Olympics and turned out at the old stadium in a youth international.
"I played at the old Wembley as an England U16 international," she told Sky Sports News HQ.
"It wasn’t something I had given much thought to as a kid even though as a child, Wembley for me was the home of English football and the national team.
"I‘m sure it will be an even more emotional experience for me playing with the Three Lions kit on compared to when I played there in a Team GB shirt during the Olympics.
"It will be an honour and a really proud moment for me putting on that Three Lions shirt and walking out in front of 55,000 fans at Wembley if it happens (that I'm selected)."
A lot will rest on Williams' ability to dominate in midfield and the back-to-back Super League title winner is expecting a stern examination of her credentials against the team she calls the world's best.
"Germany will be our biggest test to date and I think (England manager) Mark Sampson has planned it this way for a reason," she said.
"The fact we're playing against the team who are the best in the world in my opinion is the ideal way to replicate a World Cup game - particularly with the emotion involved in playing in a Three Lions shirt at Wembley, our national stadium."
Williams hopes the reduced-capacity women's international, which sold out three weeks in advance, will be the first of many held at the new Wembley.
"I think the work the FA have put in is fantastic and it’s an incredible achievement getting a record crowd of 55,000 for an England women’s game," she added.
"The ticket sales are really impressive and it shows that there is a good fanbase for women’s football. I’m sure if we put in a good performance there will be another opportunity in the future to play at Wembley and I’m sure we can get an even bigger crowd for that.
"It'll be really exciting for us to play there even if it’s only once a year. I think we have certainly shown the fanbase is there for us to warrant playing there."
