“IS” phenomenon will not be allowed in Pakistan: General Raheel Sharif

General Sharif was speaking at a reception hosted by Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani - Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States - in honour of the visiting military delegation when he made the remark.
His comment came at such a time when media reports have alleged that the “IS” group has been in contact with several Pakistani militant groups, including Tehrik e Taliban (TTP) and Lashkar e Jhangvi (LeJ).
The Pakistani delegation headed by General Raheel Sharif is on a weeklong visit to the United States.
The reception was also attended by senior American officials from the State and Defence departments, including US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan Dan Feldman.
Referring to ongoing military movements - Zarb-i-Azb – in Pakistan, the Army Chief stated that discrimination was not part of the equation. He reassured his audience that all terror militants, regardless of their affiliations and origins would be treated equally and in accordance with the law.
