Four held on charge of duping women

The Mandya rural police have arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in several robbery cases. The arrested had diverted the attention of women, especially senior citizens, and escaped with their gold chains, police said here on Saturday.

The tricksters have been identified as T. Nanjunda alias Nanjundi alias Nandi (23) of Hosahalli Road in K.R. Pet, T. Devaraj (20) of Gulaghatta in Malavalli, and N. Shankar alias Suresh (38) and his wife Mala Shankar (27) from Hosur in Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu.

Investigators said the accused are professional thieves and had duped people in Hassan, Mandya and Tamil Nadu.
