Inter-ministerial team visits Arsikere, Belur taluks

An inter-ministerial committee from Union government visited parts of Arsikere and Belur taluks on Friday to assess the impact of drought. The committee consisted of N.M. Krishnanuni, Director of Central Water Commission and M. Thulasidas and General Manager of Food Corporation of India, Regional Office, Bangalore. The committee visited Adaguru, Dasagodanahalli, Tirumalapura and Appihalli in Belur taluk and Javagal, Savantanahalli and Banavara in Arsikere taluk. It came to the notice of the visiting committee that water bodies had gone dry and the yield in agricultural fields was poor.
