Mehbooba Mufti has failed as Wachi MLA, says NC candidate Ganai
Wachi (Jammu & Kashmir), Nov 22: Showkat Ganai, Jammu & Kashmir MLC and a National Conference (NC) candidate from Wachi constituency in South Kashmir said the lack of concern at the MLA level in the constituency proved the failure of People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti and said the people of Wachi would hand it a heavy defeat as a befitting reply. Ganai said Mufti never visited Wachi in the last six years and never felt it urgent to raise issues related to the constituency either in the assembly or the media. He said Mufti was too busy with her party's melodrama and it showed the PDP's shallow and superficial politics through which it exploits people rather than serving them. Mehbooba Mufti defeated Ganai by 8,336 votes at Wachi in the 2008 election
Ganai said the NC became stronger in Wachi and the youth there were working hard to make Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's vision of honest governance and people's empowerment a reality. He said the NC fielded clean candidates for the upcoming polls while the PDP gathered cronies of the Mufti family and corrupt faces.
"This is a crystal clear difference between us and them and the youth of this State are conscious of politics and history to understand where PDP stands today in the eyes of the people", Ganai said.
