GURGAON: The sister of Haryana Lokhit Party leader and former state minister Gopal Kanda was robbed of a fortune on Friday afternoon, when she was lured by a youth to step out of her car to pick up Rs 100 lying on the road. As soon as Suman left the car, the thief snatched her bag from the car, containing 20 lakh in jewellery and Rs 50,000 in cash, and fled.
Police said that Suman was on her way to meet Gopal Kanda.
Her husband Motilal had stopped the car near Gurudwara Road market when a youth approached her and asked if two Rs 50 notes on the road belonged to her. As she stepped out, the youth fled with her bag.
“Based on Motilal’s complaint, we’ve lodged an FIR,” said SHO Vishal Kumar of Civil Lines police station.
