BOKARO: As part of a damage control exercise, BJP has roped in party veterans to convince disgruntled leaders, who have distanced themselves from party activities after being denied tickets to contest the coming assembly election in the Bokaro constituency.
Party general secretary Bihar Nagendera Singh on Friday met snubbed local leaders of the district BJP unit here. Other state leaders, including former CM Arjun Munda, state president Ravindra Rai and others are expected to come to persuade upset leaders to support party candidate, Viranchi Narayan too.

Singh, who arrived here on Thursday, first met N K Rai at his house. He had dinner with him. Singh had breakfast with the chairman of the zila parishad, Mihir Singh at his residence the next day. Mihir was a strong contender for the ticket. Singh also had tea with former district president, Rohit Lal Singh before leaving for Ranchi.
Talking to TOI, Singh said he met the leaders in Bokaro to discuss the poll strategy. "I visited the homes of a few leaders and spoke to them. There is nothing serious. None of the leaders are disgruntled. They have assured me to extend their support in ensuring the party's win from the Bokaro seat and form a majority government in the state".
