Six Months Early, Paddy Power Pays Out on Chelsea Winning Title

Paddy Power Plc, Ireland’s largest bookmaker, is paying out 400,000 pounds ($627,000) on Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea winning the Premier League in England, with about six months of the season left.
Led by Jose Mourinho, Chelsea is four points ahead in the title race. The Dublin-based bookmaker said it was paying out 22,400 pounds to one gambler who bet 16,000 pounds at odds of 2/5, meaning a 5 pound bet returns a 2 pound profit.
