Another ICG interceptor boat commissioned at Hazira

Hazira, Gujarat based companies had received orders of manufacturing of total 54 boats for Indian Coast Guard. Of them 17 boats are delivered. On Thursday, another interceptor boat (number 416) was commissioned at sea at L&T jetty in presence of Commandant.
Rs. 23 crore interceptor boat is 27 meter long. Its weight is 106 tonne. With 11 crew members aboard, it sails at 45 knots or 83 km/hour speed. It has capacity to travel upto 500 nautical miles.
It can be used for coastguard patrolling maritime operation, search, rescue and surveillance.
