Youth pushes girl off overbridge, victim battles for life

BHOPAL: A youth and his friend allegedly pushed off 21-year-old college student an over-bridge from steep 40 height in Maihar city of Satna district, resulting in multiple fractures and broken jaw. The shocking incident took place a fortnight ago, but the matter came to light after the girl, now hospitalized and battling for life, gained consciousness on Thursday and told police about it.
Victim Sanju Mishra, 21, a resident of Sarla Nagar area, is BA final year student at Vivekananda College, Maihar.
Her brother Ravi Mishra said she was thrown off the bridge in day time the accused by Ragvendra Tiwari and his friend Nagendra Sen. He claimed Tiwari was stalking her for last four months.
On November 1, he had threatened the victim with dire consequences. “On November 5, Tiwari and Sen followed my sister when she was on the way to college,” Ravi alleged. “We have found witnesses and they have assured us to testify in the court. Those involved are threatening us,” he said.
