Woman ‘kills’ her toddler with paramour’s aid

A woman allegedly poured hot water on her two-and-a-half-year-old child with paramour’s help in Rail Bazaar area on Thursday. The toddler was found unconscious in the house with serious burns and was rushed to a nearby hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Woman’s former husband Muslim Ansari lodged a complaint with the police accusing Afreen and her alleged paramour Dilshad of killing toddler Alshaan.
According to reports, Afreen married Muslim Ansari of Faithfulganj area in 2010. She was allegedly having an extra-marital affair with her neighbour Dilshad and had secured a divorce. She later allegedly decided to eliminate Alshaan too.
The police said as per divorce condition, Afreen had acceded Alshaan’s custody to Ansari. On Thursday morning, Ansari had gone to a nearby market, when Afreen and her paramour reached his house in Faithfulganj and allegedly poured hot water on Alshaan.
Rail Bazar SO said, “Afreen was allegedly having an affair with Dilshad, who too lives in Faithfulganj area. After seeking divorce from her husband, she decided to marry Dilshad.” He added that investigations were underway to corroborate the charges mentioned in the complaint by her first husband. He said that the child was alone in the house when the incident took place.
The police said the murder came to light after the control room received a call informing that a woman along with her paramour had killed her son. On reaching the spot, the police saw Ansari lying unconscious. The toddler was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious burns where he died later.
“Primarily, it seems that Afreen and Dilshad are involved in the murder as the two are absconding. Separate teams have been constituted to nab them,” said the SO.
