Irrfan signs Abhinay Deo’s next, a dark comedy

Irrfan, who is presently shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s Piku and subsequently Meghna Gulzar’s Talwar, has now signed Abhinay Deo’s next, a dark comedy. “I cannot reveal more about the film as I would like the production house to make the announcement,” said Irrfan.
But it seems the modalities of the shooting, of what will be a dark comedy, are being worked upon, as the film has an ensemble cast. And Irrfan will be one of the main protagonists.
There were also reports that the actor will be doing Mira Nair’s The Bengali Detective, reportedly about a detective who is keen to learn contemporary dancing. But he denies the news, “Mira is still scripting the film,” said Irrfan who has earlier worked with the director in the 2006 The Namesake.
Nevertheless, the actor has his plate full with other interesting projects like Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa, Sujoy Ghosh’s Durga Rani Singh and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next.
