Suresh Gopi sings for Mashithandu
It’s not just for heavy-duty punchlines that actor Suresh Gopi lends his voice.
The artiste, who is married to singer Radhika, has also proven that he can mouth songs and have crooned for a handful of films in the past. Most recently, it’s for the film Mashithandu that Suresh Gopi sang a song. The movie is probably the first of its kind, brought out by the Social Work Department of Santhigiri College, Vazhithala, in Idukki district.
The film’s director and faculty of the college, Anish Urumbil, says, “Mashithandu has a theme based on children’s welfare and education. We approached Suresh Gopi as he is someone who often takes up similar causes. He was impressed by the script, and despite his tight schedule, agreed to sing for the film. The track was recorded in Trivandrum and the work was wrapped up in a day’s time.” The song, Manassoru Mashithandu, is a melody penned by lyricist Jayakumar Chengamanadu and composed by newbie Jinto John.
Interestingly, Minister for Social Welfare, M K Muneer has played himself in the film.
Previously, Suresh Gopi has sung for films like Pranayavarnangal, Pilots, Sathyameva Jayathe and Thillana Thillaana. He has also rendered songs for many Malayalam music albums.
