Both mustard oil and mustard seeds have been ruling firm in mandis across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat on subdued buying and comparatively weak arrival. In Indore, mustard oil on Thursday ruled firm at ₹676, while it was ₹670 in Neemuch and ₹685 in Morena.With arrival of mustard seeds being on the lower side in the country, prices of mustard seeds in the physical market are also ruling higher at ₹4,200-4,300 a quintal. Similarly, raida ruled firm at ₹3,300. Plant deliveries for Jaipur line today were also quoted higher at ₹3,815-20 (₹3,775-80 last week) on improved demand in mustard oil. Given depleting mustard stock in the country and improved demand for mustard oil during the winter season, bearish sentiment in mustard oil and mustard seeds appears unlikely, said Kailash Agrawal, a mustard seeds broker. Arrival of mustard seeds in the country on Thursday was recorded at 1.15 lakh bags.
