Kolar seeks Rs. 245 crore for drought relief

Central team takes stock of the situation

District administration has sought Rs. 245 crore for drought works and drinking water schemes in the drought prone Kolar district.

The Deputy Commissioner K.V. Trilokchandra has made the submission to a Central team which visited the district to study the drought situation.

The team led by R.B. Sinha, Joint secretary, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, visited several places in Kolar, Bangarpet, Mulbagal and Srinivasapur taluks to review the ground reality.

Rakesh Bharadwaj, Under secretary, Ministry of Rural Development and P.K. Sinha, Deputy Commissioner (Crops) were the other members of the team.

Regional Commissioner Ritesh Singh, Mr. Trilokchndra, Assistant Commissioner C.N. Manjunath accompanied the central team among others.
