Headlights can be replaced, heads can’t be’; ‘you can argue with police for not wearing helmet, not Yamraj (god of death)’; ‘don’t be an angry bird, wait for your signal’; ‘donate blood but not on the roads’; ‘zindagi na milegi dobara, hauli chal le yaara’ — these are some of the many interesting theme-based slogans put up on hoardings in Ludhiana.

Starting its theme-based campaign against overspeeding, drunken driving, using cellphones while driving and violation of other traffic rules, the deputy commissioner along with traffic police of Ludhiana installed various hoardings on Ferozepur road on Wednesday.

Talking to Newsline, ACP (traffic) Richa Agnihotri said, “The step has been taken after directions of deputy commissioner. It is a joint initiative as in recent days many deadly accidents were witnessed on the roads of Ludhiana. People are overspeeding and driving recklessly. To remind them how precious their lives are, we thought of doing something unique which is hilarious and spreads awareness at the same time. So we thought of theme-based campaign including angry birds and Yamraj. Soon hoardings will be there in other parts of the city too.”
