The film festival will pay tribute to litterateur titan U R Ananthamurthy in its Kannada retrospective section by screening four movies based on his novels, and a documentary on him. Called Fiction to Film, the movies are Samskara, Ghatashraddha, Avasthe, Mouni, and Girish Kasaravalli's documentary U R Ananthamurthy: Not a biography, but a Hypothesis.Festival artistic director N Vidyashankar
