Though there’s no trace of Naxal movement in any area of Gujarat so far, the State Reserve Police(SRP) of Gujarat has started training jawans for jungle warfare and anti-Naxal operation in forests near Kevadia colony in central Gujarat.

SRP group 14 jawans are presently undergoing very difficult training of ambush, camouflage, section attack, night march and more.

According to Assistant Commandant of group-14 J.R. Rana, the training is being given to make jawans ready for duty in Naxal areas. He said the jawans will also be given training of firing.

He further said the State Reserve Police jawans are sometime sent outside of Gujarat for duty. Such training will help them when they are deputed in Naxal affected states like Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh etc.
