Gugak FM Broadcasting 'Arirang of Korea, Song of the World' Concert

Arirang launchs out L.A as a symbol of Korea

Arirang, a Korean folk song which brings all Koreans together, will touch American audience.

Gugak FM Broadcasting, along with Gangwon Sori Promotion Association, presents a performance ‘Arirang of Korea, Song of the World’ on 24th November at 7:00 pm at Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles.

Hosted by Lee Keun Chan, a presenter of daily radio program ‘Hallyu Man Se’ of Gugak FM, Master Lee Yu Ra will perform a Korean traditional folk song ‘Arirang’ which was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity program by UNESCO in 2012.

Collaborated with artists of Yu Ra Art troupe, many variations of Arirang including Jeongseon, Jindo, Miryang, etc. will be presented at 1st section. Second section will be filled with fusion Arirang such as Yeongam Arirang, then at the last section, performers and audience will be singing songs altogether.

After the main performance, a talk show will be arranged at 8:30 pm to share ideas about the show as well as to consider the beauty and possibility of Arirang with performers, producers and audience.

Arirang workshop will be held on 25th at 7:00 pm at Korean Music Center, Los Angeles. The workshop will be about rhythm, vocal, etc. of Arirang and about what would be an efficient way to teach and preserve Arirang. ‘Arirang of Korea, Song of the World’ will be filmed and recorded to be broadcasted afterward.
