There's a fine line between too much information and cute love messages that make you go 'aww', and Facebook is where the line gets blurry. So much so that even its founder Mark Zuckerberg can't resist expressing his love via the social media platform.

ETPanache tells you how to keep it tasteful online and not have your friends cringe at the sight of your feed:

    The right time

You've updated your relationship status from 'Single' to 'In a Relationship' barely a week ago and already you're professing undying love and uploading every cheesy couple selfie. It's too soon. What happens if it doesn't work out in a month? Too much too soon comes across as fickle and it could even spell disaster for future relationships. Wait for at least three months before declaring your love to the world.

    What to say

You want to tell the world how you feel about your new lady love, but here's the thing — the world does not really care. Sure, your ex-girlfriend will re-read it a couple of times, but other than that, your prolonged message of love will only make your friends laugh and roll their eyes. The trick is to express your love like an adult. "I love you baby muah muah muah. You're the best. Can't live without you," is too much. You are much better off with a simple, "Another great weekend with my girl."

    Save it

Yeah, yeah, you're in a relationship. Good for you. You know, your girl knows and Facebook knows, so we don't need to be reminded everyday. Save the professions of love for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries (like the Zuckerbergs). A daily love message popping up in your friends' newsfeed is going to make them want to un-friend you. Still want to profess your love daily? Go ahead and send an SMS.

    Tributes

Yes, when done too soon and for no reason at all, these are cheesy. But, they are also really cute if done tastefully. Video tributes are actually a good idea because you're not bombarding your friends with it, they can click on it if they want to watch it. Also, if they tell you it is too much, you have the perfect comeback, "Why did you watch it?" Our only tip: keep it short and captions PG-13.
