Air and land firefighters were called to the five hectare blaze on Kelly Boundary Road at 10.35am on Thursday morning.
NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Chifley Zone operation support officer Brett Taylor said the blaze is currently burning through an area managed by Forestry Corporation NSW.
Mr Taylor said a helicopter is also on scene water bombing the fire.
RFS crews from Sunny Corner, Yetholme, Glanmire and Eglinton Brigades are working alongside Forestry firefighters to extinguish the blaze.
The fire is currently listed as being controlled with the NSW RFS website listing fire at 'Advice' with no immediate danger.
