SRINAGAR, Nov 19: As a show of strength JK Peoples Republican Party (PRP) candidate, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani held a massive poll rally at Ganderbal today and lambasted the successive Governments for exploiting the people of State for their vested interests and creating a wedge among the communities.
Mir said instead of working for peoples cause as their true representatives the leaders of ruling class exploited the masses by making cheap slogans to taste power always. He said the present unrest and turmoil is the result of the wrong policies of Congress and NC who ruled at Centre and State for years together.
Mir said if elected he will convert Ganderbal into a Model Constituency by boosting tourism trade in the area, provide special attention for enhancing agriculture and horticulture production, strive for setting up technical institutions and tourist reception centres as the area has a lot of tourism potential.
Mir said he will also leave no stone unturned in improving pilgrimage tourism and work for making Ganderbal as base camp for Amarnath pilgrimage to involve local transporters for ferrying the yatris from here to Baltal. Besides he will honestly work for restoration of composite culture in the Valley and take up the issue of honourable and dignified return of the Pandit brethern in the Valley who migrated due to wrong polices of the Government there by giving a lot of set-back to age old secular traditions of Valley.
Mir made it clear that PRP is pledged to end dynastic rule, corruption and nepotism from the State to take power to the door steps of common man by strengthening the Panchayats the basic institutions of democracy.
