When it comes to Citrix’s GoToMeeting solution, the company is constantly trying to make the software that is much more useful all over the business world. Earlier this month, the company announced a new initiative in order to do just that, claiming there are now a number of new web services and mobile applications that have integration with GoToMeeting.
With the features that GoToMeeting Free offers, companies who use the solution can carry out free video conferencing, which in turn allows their customers the ability to communicate with colleagues and friends and family no matter where anyone is in the world. The new integration gives developers who are building off the GoToMeeting offering a new way to make it that much easier to get in on the ground floor of the ever-growing interest in solutions that offer something like WebRTC.
The new offering allows developers to simply embed the meeting button in their website or mobile application and then one touch will launch the video conferencing solution. While there are a number of companies that will likely find this solution most beneficial, there are a few who have stepped to the front of the line. Slack, Alfred and Launcher are the very first to take advantage of this integration. Slack now says that teams working more efficiently because they can move from a text conversation to a video conference incredibly quickly. The ability to share screens, chat and search for documents inside the meeting also makes it that much easier to stay on the same page and stay productive.
GoToMeeting Free launched in March of this year and offers free, unlimited video conferencing solutions for up to three people. The browser based platform is unique in that it allows users to join into a video conference without needing to first download special software or even have a unique login.
