Muzaffarpur: Honouring a dozen people from different profession in Muzaffarpur on behalf of Chanakya Vidyapati Society here on Tuesday, BJP MP from Buxar Ashwini Kumar Choubey advised the Bramhins to respect members of every section of society despite provocations from CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, who, he alleged, was spreading casteism in the state for political gains.
Choubey said Bramhanism is not any caste but name of highest level of culture and civilization.
He said the Bramhins should remember the contributions of their ancestors. Describing his miraculous escape in the floods in Kedarnath, he said it was because of his prayer to his ancestors that he came out alive from the crumbling temple of Kedarnath in Uttarankhand in 2013.
He called upon all sections of society to help construct toilet in every house in the villages. He administered a pledge to the audience to keep their surroundings and Ganga and other rivers clean. Choubey recalled the creations and contributions of Chanakya and Vidyapati and appealed to the Bramhins to remain united. On a demand from the society for inclusion of a Bramhin from Bihar into Union cabinet, he said he was not at all unhappy over the expansion of Union cabinet recently and said everything will be done by PM Narendra Modi at an appropriate time.
Two criminals held: Two hardcore criminals, named accused in more than a dozen cases of loot in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali and East Champaran districts, were arrested with two loaded pistols while planning to loot a businessman in Pooja Market on Motijheel here on Wednesday.
Senior SP Ranjeet Kumar Mishra said Md Ayub and Md Iliyas had fled from Hajipur jail and were involved in the loot of Rs 70 lakh from Town police station area of Hajipur town two years back. The SSP said four policemen: Naseem Ahmad, Gangadayal Prasad, Dhananjay Kumar and Amit Kumar, belonging to Muzaffarpur Town, Baruraj and Motipur police stations along with a team of other policemen, who arrested the two notorious criminals, will be suitably rewarded.

Mishra said Ayub, belonging to Baruraj PS area, was arrested first and, on his disclosure, his accomplice Iliyas was caught. They have confessed their involvement in the loot of Rs 7 lakh from a petrol pump in Lalganj and loot of Rs 13 lakh from Hospital road of Hajipur town recently.
Six of the cases have been registered against them with Baruraj PS alone. This included the loot of a truck loaded with mustard oil earlier this year. The two criminals had snatched a gold chain from a woman Madhuri Tiwari under Kazimohammadpur PS here recently, the SSP added.
