VRANOV NAD DYJI, Czech Republic, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A priest in the Czech Republic confirmed the authenticity of a video showing an exorcism filmed through a church door keyhole.

Marek Dunda, a priest at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in the southern city of Vranov nad Dyji, confirmed the video posted to YouTube by resident Daniel Trochta in February showed an exorcism ritual being performed on a woman.

"We were asking God to protect and to liberate the person. We used a Latin prayer asking for a help. Of course it helps," Dunda said this week.

The priest declined to give further details of the incident.

"If something is filmed through a keyhole, there is nothing more to say about it," he said.

The town's mayor, Lubomir Vedra, said he has spoken with church officials and determined nothing illegal took place.
