Kot Radha Kishen case: ATC sends suspects to jail on judicial remand

Lawyers have denied the allegations of Kot Radha Kishen on brick kiln owner.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least five suspects and owner of brick kiln involved in Kot Radha Kishen incident have sent to jail on judicial remand on Wednesday.

After ten days physical remand, Yousaf (brick kiln owner) along with five other suspects were presented in Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore.

Lawyers of suspects have denied the allegations of Kot Radha Kishen incident and revealed that the name of brick kiln owner has been filed due to pressure.

Interrogation officer has requested the court to extend physical remand as investigation is underway.

Furthermore, honorable judge has sent brick kiln owner and 45 other suspects to jail by rejecting the request of extension for physical remand.

Moreover, remaining 16 suspects have been handed over to police on three days physical remand.

Earlier, a couple in Kot Radha Kishan, Kasoor, was set on fire over a minor incident of laying sand on the grave, Dunya News reported.

Police registered the case and arrested 48 people. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has also set up a 3-member committee to probe the incident.

Shahzad and his wife Shama were laborers in Chak 59 village near Kot Radha Kishan. Both were set on fire by an angry mob on a minor conflict.

Police has registered the case against 400 unknown people while raids are being made to catch more. CM Punjab has demanded the inquiry report of the incident and has formed a 3-member committee to fix the responsibility and take strictest action against the culprits.
