Medtronic Inc. (MDT) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $0.96 Tuesday morning, up from $0.91 in the prior year period. Analysts expected EPS of $0.96. The company reaffirmed its full year 2015 adjusted EPS guidance of $4.00 to $4.10. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $4.05. Medtronic now forecasts full-year revenue growth in a range of 4 to 5 percent, compared to prior expectations of 3 to 5 percent growth.
Medtronic rose sharply during the first half hour of trade Tuesday and took out the session highs late in the afternoon. The stock ended the day with a gain of 3.28 at $72.47 on above average volume. Medtronic has been climbing for the past month and surged to a new high for the year.
