Jail for officials held for supplying drugs to inmates

Police on Tuesday produced three jail officials held for allegedly supplying drugs to inmates before ilaqa magistrate Rajneesh Kumar, who sent them to jail.

FARIDKOT: Police on Tuesday produced three jail officials held for allegedly supplying drugs to inmates before ilaqa magistrate Rajneesh Kumar, who sent them to jail. All three were named by one Rakesh Kumar, who was booked for possessing drugs on June 25, during interrogation. The fourth official named by him is still absconding. After five months of investigations, police found head constable Surjit Singh, working as warrant officer, head constable Adarsh Kumar, security guard Beerpal Singh and Manjit Singh guilty of supplying drugs.
While Surjit, Beerpal and Adarsh were arrested, Manjit is still missing.
