NDU team visits POF

Wah Cantt - A delegation of 16th national security workshop, which is under way at National Defence University Islamabad, visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) on Tuesday.
The delegation included Senator Sehar Kamran, MNA Malik Muhammad Uzair Khan, MNA Dr Shahida Rehmani, MNA Maulana Qamar-ud-Din, MNA Naseema Hafeez-ur-Rehman, MNA Surriya Jatoi, MPA Sardar Shahabudin Khan Seahar, MPA Malik Ahmad Saeed Khan, MPA Mian Irfan Aqueel Daultana, and Representative of civil society. Syed Naseem Raza, the chief executive of Wah Nobel, while briefing the delegation about the capabilities of POF said that POF is a vital defence installation of Pakistan and has been mandated to meet the defence requirements of Pakistan in war and peace. He told the delegation that during the present war on terror, POF has met enhanced demands of Pakistan Army in terms of arms and ammunition despite many challenges. He further said that in order to make the organisation self-sufficient and equip it with modern technologies, joint venture with various countries of the world are under consideration. Members of delegation asked various questions about the defence industrial complex. Chairman POF Board Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI(M), gave detailed answer of every question.
Participants of the delegation were taken around some selected production units where they took keen interest in the manufacturing process of POF products. They praised the high standard of POF products and termed it a role model and example for other institutions of the country.
