ICCR to perform J&K music, dances at Bhutan

JAMMU, Nov 18: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India is going to present a programme of music and dances of Jammu and Kashmir in Thimphu (Bhutan) in connection with the National Day Celebration of the Kingdom of Bhutan which are being held from December 16 to 19.
This was informed here today by the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu, Balwant Thakur in a press briefing held at ICCR headquarters in Jammu.
Thakur said that ever since the opening of ICCR’s office in Jammu this is going to be fourth International event wherein Jammu and Kashmir is being featured exclusively by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
He desired the interested dancers and musicians to contact ICCR Jammu for their consideration for this prestigious International participation.
“Best of the performers keeping in view the International significance of this programme will be given the opportunity on purely merit basis. Artists having past experience may be given preference but outstanding talent will be the only qualification to be a part of this international cultural delegation which will perform to mark the National Day celebrations of the Kingdom of Bhutan”, he added.
