‘Raajneeti 2’ will start with Katrina Kaif, says Prakash Jha

Katrina will be seen reprising her role of a foreigner lady, Indu, who lands up in an Indian political clan. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, when Prakash Jha was asked about the plans for ‘Raajneeti 2’, he revealed, “Ajay’s character, like Manoj Bajpai’s and Arjun Rampal’s is dead. I don’t know if Ranbir’s character will return. Katrina’s Indu is now the Chief Minister and Raajneeti 2 will start with her. Then we’ll have other family members coming in.”

Katrina was highly appreciated for the portrayal of her character in the 2010 movie as critics said she perfectly captured the nuances of the character. No wonder, Prakash Jha has decided to once again go with the British beauty to play the central character in his movie.

The director was also quoted saying that the story will have some parallels from the real life. “Remember how Rajeev Gandhi reluctantly became the PM, then lost in the next elections? His story is the tragedy of some good people who enter politics,” said he.

Seems like, ‘Raajneeti’ is going to be a roller coaster of emotions entangled in the murky world of politics and the onus is on Katrina to play the role to perfection as she did before.

Earlier, it was also reported that the sequel of another Prakash Jha movie ‘Gangaajal’ is going to be women centri this time around and the central character can either be played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Priyanka Chopra.
