Nitish attacks BJP, Narendra Modi on black money issue
DARBHANGA: Former CM Nitish Kumar on Monday while addressing JD(U) workers the at Polo ground made a scathing attack on BJP leaders in general and PM Narendra Modi in particular. He even played audio tapes of BJP leaders recroded during election meetings in the last Lok Sabha polls.
Charging the BJP leaders of backtracking on the issue of demand for special status to Bihar, Nitish said the BJP had supported the resolution passed by the state assembly and Bihar legislative council seeking special status to the state.
He also played Sushil Modi’s audio in which Modi said that if BJP government is formed at the Centre then Bihar will get special status, special assistance and special attention. What happened to this promise? Nitish asked. He also asked as to why not Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh is upgrading the downgraded Makhana Research centre at Darbhanga and why he is not equipping the Litchi Research Centre at Muzaffarpur.
He said the BJP secured votes of youth by promising employment but even after six months of NDA rule no employment has been given instead all employment process has stopped. Farmers’ vote was obtained by promising them minimum support price of grains to be be fixed by adding 50% cost to the invested amount (lagat mulya) but only 3.5% cost has been added to the invested amount, while fixing MSP of foodgrains, Nitish charged. On the issue of promises of BJP in its manifesto for bringing back the black money within 100 days of coming to power, Nitish said nothing has been done and most of the bank accounts of black money are empty.
“Modi had promised that he will distribute the black money among poor but not even a single penny has been brought back. Five crore bank accounts had been opened under PM Jan Dhan Yozna in the country but no transactions have been made in these accounts leading to their becoming dormants,” said Nitish.
Terming the Mithilanchal as an important region of this state, Nitish said that no BJP MP from this area has been made minister in the Union cabinet. One MP has been left on the ground of his being septuagenarian and why other MPs have not been made minister is a question Mithila people are asking, Nitish said.
