JAMMU, Nov 17: The General Officer Commanding of Nagrota based White Knight Corps today flagged in a girls tour to Delhi and Jaipur organized by Army.
During the tour, the girls visited cultural and historical places at Jaipur, Delhi and Jammu which included Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Amber Fort, Jal Mahal in Jaipur, Red Fort, Lotus Temple, Kutub Minar, Jantar-Mantar and Metro Ride in Delhi and Bahu Fort, Raghunath Market in Jammu.
Delta (Force) has assisted close to 200 economically weak students in securing free admission under Prime Minister special scholarship scheme in the year 2013 and 2014 in Pacific University, Udaipur and Noida International University, Greater Noida.
The girls were also taken to Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur and Noida International University, Greater Noida to interact with the students of J&K who are already pursuing various graduation level courses from these Universities. The tour enhanced the awareness of the girls about the culture, traditions and economic prosperity of modern India.
During the flagging in ceremony, the General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps congratulated the girl students on successful completion of the excursion and urged them to share their experiences gained from the exposure to the rich cultural heritage of India during the tour with their parents, friends and villagers. He exhorted the young girls to work hard and achieve whatever they dream of in their lives. He said everything is possible by hard work and dedication and they should put in their best towards this end.
The ten-day tour, comprising of girl students of Bhaderwah, was flagged off on November 8 from Batote by General Officer Commanding, Delta (Force).
