Dilsukhnagar blasts: IM operatives produced in court
HYDERABAD: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths on Monday produced four alleged operatives of Indian Mujahideen (IM), including Mohammed Ahmed Siddibapa alias Yasin Bhatkal, all accused in the 2013 Dilsukhnagar twin blasts case, before the First Additional Metropolitan Magistrate in Nampally criminal court.
The other accused, Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi, Zia-ur Rahman alias Waqas and Mohammed Tahseen Akhtar alias Monu, along with Bhatkal, were lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi.
They were brought to the city by the NIA sleuths in the morning.
The prosecution handed copies of chargesheet to the four accused after which the court directed the investigating agency to produce them before it on 24 November in order to hear their objections against charges levelled against them. In its chargesheet, which was filed on March 14 this year, the NIA claimed that the accused had conspired to plant bombs in Dilsukhnagar to terrorise citizens and wage war against the nation.
The IM operatives were arrested in September last year from the Nepal border and in Raxaul, Bihar. They were later sent to judicial custody.
Two consecutive bomb blasts ripped through Dilsukhnagar killing 18 people and injuring 131 others in February last year. The first blast took place near 107 Bus Stop in the Malakpet police station limits while the second near A1 Mirchi Centre, in Saroornagar police station limits under Cyberabad police limits.
