HYDERABAD:
Tension prevailed in
Shah Inayath Gunj late Sunday night when two
motorcycle borne miscreants attempted to overtake an auto trolley carrying a
religious flag and later rammed into the vehicle.
The incident took a communal turn when the duo reportedly attacked passengers of the auto trolley and later pelted stones on the religious flag that was being transported to Tadbun area in
Old City. After news of the incident spread, locals gathered at the spot and staged a protest, demanding action against the culprits.
Charminar legislator Ahmed Pasha Quadri too reached the scene and led the protestors to the police station to lodge a complaint.
"We have got the registration number of the motorcycle of the miscreants," said Shah Inyat Gung police station inspector P Sattaiah.
The police registered a case under sections 341 (wrongfully restrain), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 427 (mischief) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
