‘1.5 crore saplings will be planted in Srikakulam dt;’

‘Vanamahotsavam’ was held with much fanfare in Srikakulam district on Monday with the participation of all the sections of the people in the ambitious programme.

Labour Minister K.Atchannaidu planted saplings at Tamarapalli of Narasannapeta mandal and announced that 1.5 crore saplings will be planted in the district within one year.

He said that the saplings would be planted in all vacant lands of the government to improve greenery in the district.

Dr.Ambedkar University Vice-Chancellor H. Lajipathirai urged all the people to plant at least one sapling during this auspicious month. University Principal Gunta Tulasirao, Registrar Vaddadi Krishnamohan and others participated in ‘Vanamahotsavam’ held in the university premises.
